Very small children can learn to recognize and read musical notes, even if they cannot read or write. The purpose of Musical Notes Preschool is to teach children or even adults how to recognize and read musical notes in a fun and easy way:

The program builds a close association between the name of the note, an animal picture corresponding to the letter, and the sound of the note. The next phase of learning is by stringing these notes together in the line system along with the already familiar animal picture. In the final stage, users have to find note pairs by solely by looking at the notes without the pictures, and by listening to the note tones.

Musical Notes Preschool is a highly adaptable and customizable program. Practice can take place in both treble and bass clef in 6 different octaves which can be more useful for more exerienced musicians for practicing low and high end octave notes. There is a real time score tracking system, as well as a long time result which is located in a separate log file. This log file can be used to track the learning progress in a more detailed fashion.
